Recently I’ve been want to connect with people that I’ve meet in school when I grew up over the years. But for some reason I’m hesitant about actually contacting the people that I’ve been friendly with over the years. Don’t know why that is. Guess I’m not really comfortable in making the first contact with the people I knew. Though the main problem that I have by doing this is what to what to say to someone when and/or if I do contact with someone that I knew.
Anyways, later…. Peter

Well as the title suggests that I’m looking for a new camera, well, a new digital camera. At the moment I’m not looking for a high end digital camera, but one for the serious amateur who’s looking for a wide assortment of experience with different brands of digital camera’s.
I’m at a loss as to what to get and to try out. I would like to try all of the major brands of camera’s but don’t have that kind of money to spend. I know its a personal choice as to what kind of camera to get in the end.
I’ve had a digital camera for the last 18 months or so, and it’s no longer working and I can’t even turn it on. Its a “starter” digital camera – there’s no question about that. Its an Olympus SP-510 UZ and if you like to know what happened to it then read it here. Though I go into more detail – sort of – on this blog and might get a camera from the same model line like the one that died on me.
This last week to where I bought the above mentioned camera and found another from the same model line but its a “fancier” model which I might so I have for the intern basis ’til I get a “heavy duty” model at a later time.
Basically what I’m looking for is a review site of some kind to compare all of the different kinds of cameras that are currently on the market. That would compare just about all of the features from the basic to the high end of cameras that would or could be used in various fields that has photography.
Thought of posting here to what is suggested or what comes of the reaction of this post. If you would like to know more just leave a comment here on this post or at the link above….. Later.

Over this last weekend I installed the current version of iTunes on to my Windows XP system and half way expecting an error of some kind while installing the Quick time part of the install package. Luckily that there was no problem while the installation took place.
If you want to know what I’m talking about please take a look at this post. Not that I mind using the Windows
OS, it can be a pain.
I finally got a new LCD display for the Windows PC which is nice, now there could be more than one person on-line at the same time on the home network (or LAN). Now all I need to do now with my Windows PC is to add a second hard drive primarily for the itunes library and to place future application that would take up more than what I have on my C drive.
I’m glad that Apple fixed the Quicktime install part of the iTunes 7.6 installation.
bye for now….

Generally I don’t mind traveling at all, its just the leading up to getting on to the plane that I don’t like. What I mean is that before I travel to some where or head back home I get a nervous feeling that I would leave something important behind or something that has sentimental value behind when I leave a place that I have visited.
Anyway, I was able to finally get out of the city that I’ve been living in for the better part of 14 years and traveled to Anchorage for just under a week and it was a good feeling too. I was going “stir crazy” by doing the same routine over and over again, which gets very stale, very quickly. By getting out of the same routine every so often is a very good thing for the mind and the soul. Its just by doing something different in a different city even for a short time could be helpful for your mental state and health. Basically a change of pace for me at least is a good things cause I’m tired of being in the same situation that I’ve been (which I really won’t get into at the current time) and getting out of town is nice on occasion.
There are a lot of things that I could about traveling on very short notice, but one thing I hate is the price of hotel rooms when the travel dates are just a day or 2 from the actually finding out especially in regards to traveling with someone who has to go to a hospital in Anchorage. If I had better foresight I could have found better deals on hotels if I actually did a better job looking for the deals. Then there’s trying to figure out the travel plans on getting back home which is a pain of the ass.
I haven’t had an extended or a long trip for a long time, it would be fun and exciting to some extent but it would be fun to travel for an extended time. Though I’ve traveled for a “full” day – like twice – over the last 18 months before this last week. The times that I’ve travels was back in December of 2006 and one day of Summer of 2007 and that was to and from Anchorage.
Though I would like to travel more often but I just don’t want to travel that much by air, I would much rather travel by car or the train. I would prefer to travel by train but passenger rail today in the U.S. isn’t like what you can or could find in Europe or in many parts of Asia – as far as I know. If I was able to I would like to own my own passenger cars and such.
There are a lot of things that I want to do like traveling but its just the matter of getting the money to do stuff like this but when the economy is like the way it is, its just not practical to do so. Plus, the way my life has been going recently its just not worth the time or the energy to even think about doing such things. As much as I want to think and plan trips, its just like planning to do other basic fun stuff when you don’t have the time to do such stuff.
I could go on and on about what I want to do in regards to traveling and things that I want to do but I don’t know what else to say at the moment or what to add to this post.
bye for now…

When installing updates to programs on a computer whether its a Windows PC or on a Macintosh computer there’s always a chance that any upgrade would go wrong. I got around upgrading iTunes to version 7.5 on my Windows PC and after the installer updated Quicktime I kept getting errors that were important iTunes files that weren’t found in order to run. After looking in the support forums on Apple’s website and from what I could tell that there seems to a problem with part of the update installation package. While reading the posts on the iTunes forum it seemed – to me at least – that the problem lied with the Quicktime installation of the iTunes package.
It seems that the only way to “fix” this problem if upgraded to iTunes 7.5 while getting various errors is to downgrade to install an earlier version of Quicktime – like version 7.2 – I think is the last version that is / was available.
The thing is that I didn’t get any errors while upgrading iTunes on my MacBook Pro lapto. It also seems like that 9 out of 10 times there are no problems while the remaining time there is a problem while upgrading software and or hardware. But then I never really liked to get my hands “dirty” that much while doing upgrades in some matter on my computers whether its my Macintosh computers or my PC.
These problems happened after I got my PC back from the repair shop, while this problem while upgrading to the current version of iTunes I thought to myself that I don’t need to take the computer back into the repair shop just yet. The only “major” things to do on my PC is get another hard drive (larger hard drive – like around 500GB – would be nice), and get some expansion ports put in, and a new video card too. But those upgrades would have to wait. Though I would have preferred to have or get things done at the same time but things like this never do, and yet it might be to much to do everything at once. After doing this next set upgrades would be it for my PC in regards to hardware upgrades.
Though I’m thinking of getting a new Windows PC at some point over the next couple of years but at this point I’m not certain if its going to happen. If I do get a new PC, I think I would try to get a mid-range system that would have a number of possible upgrades that I could do, I’ll just see what happens over the next couple of years about getting a new PC.
bye for now

I discovered a new internet based radio site named Slacker that works on a Macintosh system well through – at least – Firefox 2. Granted its in beta, but its not like Yahoo! Music that doesn’t support Mac in regards to its Radio part of its site. The music video’s on Yahoo Music do work in Firefox on the Macintosh system which is nice.
Anyway, now its nice to have some place to listen to the radio on the internet besides ITunes. Here is the link to the story on how found Slacker.com.
Now if Yahoo! would add or improve support for the Macintosh platform on it music site, which I doubt that its going happen anytime soon. Well sort of Apple buying a larger company, but then again its wishful thinking.
laters….

MacBook Pro. What a name – just like everyone else that commented linked to other posts here by the way of Technorati. Anyways, MacBook Pro the name just plain sucks big time. Though it would take some time or a very long time before people would get used to the new name of the Apple portable line of computers. I myself, would get the older Powerbook computers simply I no like buying or getting a 1st Generation computer. In part cause of the general software compatiblity with the hardware and want to see if there any “bugs” in the new system or not.
I just wounder how the next year or so would be like for Apple. In regards to how “Macheads” would like the performace and such. In turn on how “fast” developers would put out updated software would be another factor to get people to get the new systems into their homes or workplace.
At this point I just wounder what the name Apple would give to the intel based Pro line when that gets updated in the near future.
Just my 2 cents on the subject.
